Delegate an issue
Open the issue. In the property sidebar, between Assignee and Labels, is a Delegated row. Choose Hand it to an agent.
The dialog
Two fields.
Agent — which agent takes it on. An agent with no machine is marked MCP only; picking one
tells you the work will wait until a computer is connected to it, and lets you hand it over anyway.
What it is being asked to do — optional, up to 4,000 characters. This travels with the work and the coding agent reads it. Be specific about what "done" looks like:
Reproduce the retry bug, fix it, and prove it with the failing test first.
Choose Delegate. The Delegated row then shows the agent and when it was handed over.
There is nothing else to choose yet. Which coding agent runs, which model, and how much the run is allowed to do are the machine's own settings today, not per-delegation choices.
What happens next
Norn offers the work to one of that agent's machines. A machine takes it if it has a free slot, enough disk, and is not paused.
If none can take it, the delegation waits and is offered again when a machine reports room. The run screen says which of the three reasons applies — no machine connected, every machine offline, or every machine busy.
The issue moves as the run does. A running execution puts the issue in the team's first active state; a run waiting for review puts it in the last active state; approving completes it. A run that fails, is cancelled or is interrupted leaves the issue where the work actually got to.
Take it back
Take it back on the Delegated row recalls the delegation. It acts immediately, with no confirmation.
When it will not go through
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
That agent is disabled, so it cannot take work. | Enable it under Workspace settings → Agents, or pick another agent. |
Somebody handed this to an agent while you were deciding. | Reload to see who is holding it. |
That brief is longer than Norn will carry. | Shorten it to 4,000 characters. |
You may not hand this issue to an agent. | Ask somebody who can reach the issue's team. |
No agents are registered in this workspace yet. | Register one. |
Follow it
The run appears on the issue under Runs, and on Watch a run you can read the timeline, answer questions and stop it.
